UX/UI design for a mobile productivity app.
Project Overview:
Order is a mobile app designed for busy professionals to consolidate task management, habit tracking, and note-taking in one place. Created as part of a UX/UI design course, it solves the problem of using multiple apps to stay organized.
Problem & Solution:
Professionals often juggle several apps for different productivity needs, leading to inefficiency and frustration. Order simplifies this by offering an all-in-one solution with a user-friendly interface. Key features include task lists with progress bars, habit tracking, and categorized notes, all designed to help users visualize and manage their day effectively.
Design Process:
I conducted user research, revealing that 54% of participants were frustrated by using multiple apps, and 77% wanted a tool to manage both work and personal tasks. Based on these insights, I designed user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, iterating the design after low- and high-fidelity user testing. Notable design decisions included adding a progress bar for tasks and incorporating color-coordinated, scrollable categories for notes.
Outcomes:
The app received positive feedback from instructors and peer mentors, who praised its intuitive design and aesthetic appeal. User testing led to improvements such as adding scroll bars for note categories and displaying task completion percentages, resulting in a highly functional prototype ready for further development.
